Day off and still in bed listening to www.pointblank.fm radio. I should be up and about because I have so much to do today but what the heck. I can afford another hour and a cup of coffee before I start my chores.
Music; feeds the soul and will always lift your spirit.

If ever I was a writer I'm sure my office would be a bedroom; at least, a room with a bed. Whenever I want to just sit, I tend to be in my bedroom. Whenever I want to shut myself away, my bedroom. Every evening I've come here to write my blog from my bed. My bed is my sanctuary and I always say;
"If I could have a bed in the lounge rather than a sofa I would"
I think my book may take some time to finish though.
What would your office space be? I know my better half would have a minimalist, structured, disciplined clean cut office. I would have a view, bed, never ending supply of fresh tea from a china cup and saucer and the smell of fresh flowers just catching the breeze. Yeah, there you go, that's why I'm not a writer, I'm a drifter and I'm only here for the moment.

Bedtime again and it appears to be the time when I most like to talk. Not sure that's always a good thing but I don't mind in the least.
When I was married I used to start talking and my husband would say
"why do you have to talk to me now when you've had all night" to which I would reply;
"because it wasn't in my head earlier but it is now"
Old habits die hard I guess.
Hurrah, my cat Pixie came home this evening circa 22:15. She had stayed out since Tuesday and I hate it when she doesn't come home for days, but she's home now, fed and snuggled beside me. Miu miu has just entered the room, jumped up onto the chest of drawers and is contemplating her landing spot on the bed. She will be clambering on me within the next few minutes to sleep over my shoulder no doubt. Yes; here she comes,
5 4 3 2 and there she goes.
I have a busy day tomorrow. You know how it is, day off from work and you have to fit everything in.
I want to look for a bridge camera because I love capturing moments. I don't claim to be a photographer by any means, but it is one of the things that fills me with joy.
Midnight exactly. I'm outta here. Goodnight.

Well, what a evening that was! I left work 2 hours later than I should have only then to reach the motorway and find myself sitting in traffic and my usual 45 minute drive home turned into 3 hours. Yes, I did say 3 hours, and no, I'm not exaggerating.
You know when you are nearing a exit point and think "should I get off here" well I thought it, just didn't bloody follow through. To make matters worse my fuel light came on and although I know I can drive home easily I did start to worry after circa 2 hours because I really thought I would breakdown. I started turning my engine off during the long stationary periods although this meant no heater and my feet getting cold, so I contemplated what I would do if I had to sleep in the car overnight. I decided that the few crackers in my bag left from lunch with the orange from maybe 3 days ago plus half a bottle of water would suffice and the blanket in the boot would have to be enough with my coat if I slept on the back seat.
It was a long evening I can tell you so when I finally arrived home I fed my cat (Pix hasn't come home) made a cup of tea, a slice of toast with marmite and had 10 minutes before contemplating bed which is where I am right now with a little black cat fast asleep over my shoulder.
Goodnight.

I have a cat over my shoulder, nestled into my neck, purring quite contentedly, without even a stroke.
I'm in bed, knees bent, laptop perched trying not to disturb Miu miu. I wish she wouldn't grip my shoulder though, claws are not the friendliest of weapons (not that I'm implying any weapon is friendly of course).
How I will drink my cup of tea I don't know.
I want to tell you something interesting, even humorous; but alas I have nothing for you so I shall bid thee goodnight and wish thee a happy and comforting slumber till the morn shall awaken thee.

Monday:
Cream cheese and crackers for lunch today, Philadelphia to be exact and no, it isn't "light" it's completely full fat and no, I haven't done a comparison nor am I likely to because if you want it have it; just don't have it every day.

My bloody cat pee'd on the bloody floor!!
I took my bath, sat on the sofa and noticed this wet streak on the floor; so, floor washed, cat toy in the bin (no it's not cat punishment, it was in the line of fire) and everything sprayed with dettol. Not a happy bunny.
She started using the bath circa six months ago so before christmas I ensured the bathroom door was closed all the time hence she started using her litter tray again; hurrah! you think?
If only she wasn't a house cat.
Miu miu and Pixie are so different. Miu miu stands outside in the cold, raising her foot alternately off the floor, whilst Pix just saunters off and may not even come home the same evening. Miu miu is like my baby, loves to snuggle and sleep, and loves kisses, and whilst Pix loves being stroked anywhere, she hates being picked up for cuddles and I literally count 5 4 3 2 1 and she's gone. Cat's huh: who'd have them; every single cat lover on the planet.
Come here Miu miu, come and have some loving.
And purrrrrrr.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful son.
Not quite time yet. 22:05 on a Saturday evening was the moment he finally arrived into this world.
Gosh, I was so young and living in Northern Ireland. My family were then living in the UAE so I was pretty much alone. My husband was in the Military and we were young newlyweds on our first posting.
I guess when you're young and in labour for the first time it seems more horrific than it probably was.
Women all say it was the worst labour ever, and I'm not saying any of us are lying; maybe in hindsight it's just not that horrific.
I remember my waters were broken circa 10am and thinking it wouldn't be long. Around 2pm the nurse told my husband to go and get some food because it would be a while yet and I looked at the clock thinking I would be done by maybe 5:30.
I was incredibly anaemic apparently so while he was gone the nurse changed my drip and blood spurted everywhere. Quite funny really. The pillow was spattered, the sheet had a huge patch of blood as did the gown I was wearing.
Gas and air: Oh my god, how great is that stuff!!! I think I used 2 bottles and had injections of whatever; good stuff.
Men have a hard time of it don't they. My back was in agony due to a tilted pelvis and my son laying the wrong way so the lovely nurse rubbed my back for a while until my husband returned.
"You have to rub my back"
YOU'RE NOT DOING IT RIGHT!!!!"
Yeah, I bet if you asked him he would remember me screaming it at him.
Eventually he came, this beautiful little 6lbs 4ounce 17 inches bundle of beauty, and I didn't know how I was supposed to feel but felt I was supposed to say something and all I could say was; "has he got 10 fingers and toes"
What an idiot, hahahaha.
I didn't get to hold him at all and that was weird. He was very blue and his heart was to the right rather than left so they whisked him off to the special care unit on another floor only no-one thought to tell me. They stitched me up, put me on a ward, I slept, my husband left and that was it until the following day. I went to the nursery where all the babies were and looked for one with my name on it but no; not there.
I asked the nurse who went off, came back, "oh, yours is in the special care unit"
I went in the lift, couldn't tell you how many levels, likely only one or two and went to see my baby. He was sleeping and I just sat with my hand through the opening stroking him gently. I did the same the following day and the next until I said to a nurse, "Can I hold him?"
"Oh my goodness, you haven't held him?"
"No"
She opened the incubator took this amazing little person out and laid him in my arms. That was the precise moment I felt that he belonged to me and I to him. That was the moment I realised I was a mummy to this little piece of heaven that had been sent from angels.
It's so heartwarming to remember that moment, to kiss his skin and stroke him gently and just to sit and hold him in my arms.
He has since grown up to be one of the most amazing people I know. He's funny, charming, intelligent, too laid back sometimes (he gets that from me) and I'm so proud of him.
Happy Birthday gorgeous. I love you .xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh, did I add that I was pregnant again 11 weeks later? Yes, a beautiful daughter born the same year on NYE.

Love.
Do you have love in your life? Is it always wonderful or does it hurt sometimes? Of course it does because life isn't like the movies and every relationship has struggles; the decision you make is whether it's worth fighting for or whether enough's enough.
Love is the one thing we all want isn't it? More than riches we all want to wake up with that one person that brings a smile to our face, and makes our heart skip a beat with merely a thought. That one person that makes you feel like you're the only two people in the room. A great love that you can share good and bad with, the person you know will always support you when you need them and you equally them.
You know when you smile to yourself because a single thought of them comes to mind, a memory of time spent together, a silly moment between you, a walk in the park, breakfast in bed with the Sunday papers; these are all love.
The down side of course is when love is taken for granted, communication is not regular for whatever reason and frustration and hurt kick in. Of course this also happens in the majority of relationships because we are a selfish race. We get caught up in the whole "I'm busy and it's all about me" so I guess we have to find a balance and realise it is what it is and put in what we expect to get out..
You know when that person got off the train, smiled that winning smile, dropped their bags and kissed you; that moment when everyone on the platform disappeared and you were all that mattered in that moment; that's love.
That's my love.

My cat has just gone out, just when I was thinking about bed. I opened the door to call Pix in for the night and miu miu ran out.
Now miu miu is a house cat whilst Pix is a outdoors cat; you would never think they were from the same litter, so now; I have to wait for miu miu to come back in because believe me, she will be crying in circa 5 minutes because she's cold so I can't possibly leave her out for the night; she couldn't cope...
I think I'll tell you more of my cats as the days pass and show you pics, although,I'm sure there are a few already.

time 21:09
Just a quick update: I turned off the TV, tree lights, made myself a cup of earl grey tea and took a packet of jaffa cakes from the cupboard, which I now have in my mouth, half in/out. I mean a jaffa cake of course, even I couldn't get a packet of them in my mouth; the cellophane wrapper would make me sick.
Yes I've cleaned my teeth and yes I realise that I shouldn't be eating jaffa cakes or any cake for that matter at bedtime, but I'm a grown up so I can do what the heck I like.
My cat Pixie who had been gone since Sunday finally came home this evening, much to my relief and is currently out cold on my bed. Oh, here comes miu miu; quick nudge to her sister and yep, she's looking at me as if to say "Oi, I need some loving, move that thing so I can snuggle down for the night" Yeah, she's doing her back to me with a sideways glance. Oh look, I seem to have another jaffa in my mouth.

Tuesday 1/1/13 Exordium (the beginning of anything)
So here we are, another new year is with us once again and what will it bring for each and everyone of us.
First and foremost I think resolutions are pretty weak, a lifestyle change is better than a midnight promise don't you think? Maybe not; maybe you have a different opinion, so share it. I think for me, a tidy house is a tidy mind so a good clear out will be the start to my January, and clothes in a drawer that never see the light of day will need to go to a better home. I'm pretty sure there is a women's refuge somewhere in the vicinity so I think I'll check it out.
I also think I'm going to do my best to write daily on this blog, that is why we all have a page isn't it?
I stayed home today, had a pyjama day, took a bath circa 15:00 and put clean pyjama's on to continue my solitude on a sofa in front of TV.
I watched Frozen Planet. David Attenborough is The God of Nature and when he leaves this world I will shed a few tears for a great man that has dedicated his life to bringing the world of nature into ours.
I should have gone out with my camera today and just captured the newness of the year but I didn't (rubbish). I watched the sun stream through the bare trees, new buds appearing already on their branches and smiled to myself; sunshine on the first day of the new year is a positive sign of good things to come all year and it's rained daily for weeks so it was gladly welcomed.
I don't know what's instore for 2013 but I do know we each have to make our own future, there isn't a little guy going around on a bicycle handing out better things, we have to seek for ourselves.
